Members of Potomac Lodge No. 5 F.A.A.M., along with the families and friends, were treated to a wonderful tour of Gettysburg by a fellow Mason and expert tour guide on Saturday, September 27th. In total we had 16 participants.
The Lodge chartered a fully-equipped bus which left the DC Scottish Rite Building at 9am and arrived at the Gettysburg Visitors Center at 11am. After viewing the exhibits and visiting the gift shop we re-boarded the bus at 12:30pm along with our National Park Tour Guide who was also a fellow Mason.
We were led on a 2-hour tour of the battlefield, debarking the bus at many noteworthy spots including Pickett’s Charge, Devil’s Den, Little Round Top, and the Confederate’s High Water Mark. And as seen in the photo above, we made sure to pay our respects to the “Friend to Friend” Masonic Memorial.
Following the tour, we dined at the historic Farnsworth House and then ventured into the town to visit the numerous antique shops. We re-boarded the bus at 7pm and returned to the Scottish Rite Building at 9pm.
